BrumEnergy

BrumEnergy is a free, independent home energy, benefits and retrofit advice service supporting Birmingham residents, particularly those experiencing or at risk of fuel poverty, to reduce their energy bills, improve energy efficiency, and stay warm and healthy at home.

Delivered by BVSC and a partnership of local Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) organisations, BrumEnergy provides practical support and guidance, including advice on energy saving, access to grants and schemes, and retrofit options such as insulation and home improvements that can make homes more efficient and sustainable.

As well as improving household wellbeing, BrumEnergy contributes to wider environmental and Net Zero goals across the city. It also offers businesses a meaningful way to create local Social Value and community impact.

Work with us to deliver social value

We partner with businesses to turn social value commitments into real outcomes for Birmingham communities. Opportunities include:

  • Meeting social value and procurement commitments
Integrate BrumEnergy into your social value plans, supporting fuel-poor households while delivering measurable local impact.
  • Funding frontline energy advice support
Contribute towards the cost of qualified energy advisors, enabling more households to receive one-to-one guidance and tailored support.
  • Sponsoring community energy advice sessions or cafés
Support local energy advice cafés, pop-up sessions, or outreach events, helping us reach residents in community settings with trusted advice and support.
  • Supporting Warm Home Packs
Donate or fund essential items such as blankets, draught excluders, and energy-saving materials for households in need.
  • Supporting your workforce and customers
Where relevant projects or funded programmes are available, we may be able to offer support to your employees or customers living in Birmingham through advice, resources, or referrals, helping them to better manage their energy use and costs.

Why partner with BrumEnergy?

Environment & Energy Network

We co-ordinate an Environment & Energy Network for the VCFSE sector across Birmingham City which meets online. The network aims to bring together VCFSE organisations, whether they are traditional environmental organisations, or have little experience in environmental issues, to work together.

The network meetings are also open to businesses, as well as public sector organisations who would like to work with VCFSE organisations on these issues to come along.

Details of past meetings and resources are available at: https://www.bvsc.org/environment-and-energy-network-resources

If your business would like to join us at a meeting or be added to our mailing list please contact Elizabeth Goodchild, Strategic Communications Lead at [email protected]
