Letters, Promises and Belonging: The Children of Windrush is a powerful and intimate stage production blending dance and spoken word to bring untold stories to life.

Through the voices of a generation shaped by migration, it explores the letters sent across oceans — messages of hope, longing, and separation. It reflects on promises made and broken by families, institutions, and society, and asks what it truly means to belong. A moving tribute to resilience, identity, and connection.

We are hoping to fill the theatre and ensure these important voices are heard by as many people as possible. Your attendance, support, and help in sharing this event with friends, family, colleagues, and community networks would mean a great deal to us.

As part of the project's development, we have worked closely with members of the Windrush Generation through workshops at the West Bromwich Caribbean Centre. Around 50 participants from these workshops will attend an afternoon performance, while members of the African Caribbean Community Initiative (ACCI) in Wolverhampton are expected to join us for the evening performance as our special guests.

This production celebrates the stories, experiences, and contributions of the Windrush Generation and explores themes that continue to resonate today.
